The Arizona 25 Goldback – Tenacitas (Tenacity) celebrates the enduring spirit of determination embodied in the legend of the Lost Dutchman Mine, set amid the dramatic Superstition Mountains near Weavers Needle.

At the centre stands a resolute woman holding a lantern and a map marked with mysterious symbols, symbolising the countless explorers who have searched these rugged canyons for more than a century. She represents perseverance in the face of mystery and adversity—the essence of Tenacitas.

A horse skull in the foreground recalls the tragic Peralta expedition of the 1800s, when early miners were ambushed while seeking gold in these mountains. Decades later, Jacob Waltz, the “Lost Dutchman,” was said to have rediscovered the mine and left behind tantalising clues before his death in 1891. His legend ignited generations of fortune seekers who continue to chase its secret.

In the distance, Weavers Needle rises beneath a stormy monsoon sky, symbolising both danger and discovery. The Peralta Stone, carved with cryptic markings, reminds viewers that truth and myth often intertwine.

This Goldback honours the courage to pursue the unknown and the transformative power of the quest itself—captured in the guiding phrase: “Lost things shape those who search.”

These Goldbacks are produced in the United States, It is not legal tender, but it is recognised as a form of payment in certain states within the US.
