Goldbacks are a novel form of currency that blends the timeless value of gold with the practicality of paper money. Unlike traditional currency, which is often made from a mix of cotton and linen, Goldbacks are crafted from a thin layer of 24-karat gold, 100 Goldback contains 1/10 troy ounce of pure gold.

The Arizona 100 Goldback – Libertas (Liberty) honours the extraordinary courage of the Navajo Code Talkers, whose unbreakable language helped secure victory in the Second World War. Set before the striking red rocks of Window Rock, Arizona—the sacred seat of the Navajo Nation—the design embodies both freedom and cultural strength.

At the centre, a Navajo Code Talker crouches in full WWII Marine uniform, radio in hand. He represents the hundreds of Navajo Marines whose code, built from their native tongue once banned in schools, remained undeciphered throughout the war. Their voices carried vital messages across Pacific battlefields—from Guadalcanal to Okinawa—and during Iwo Jima, more than 800 flawless transmissions helped secure a decisive victory.

Behind him, the faint image of the Iwo Jima flag rises in tribute to the liberty they safeguarded. Towering above stands Libertas, draped in traditional Navajo attire—a concho belt, squash blossom necklace, and woven dress—holding a spear as a symbol of protection and resilience.Eagles soar overhead, embodying vigilance and freedom, while Marines move through the Arizona desert below.

This Goldback celebrates the enduring truth expressed by the Code Talkers themselves: “Our language was our strongest weapon.”

These Goldbacks are produced in the United States, It is not legal tender, but it is recognised as a form of payment in certain states within the US.
