Goldbacks are a novel form of currency that blends the timeless value of gold with the practicality of paper money. Unlike traditional currency made from cotton and linen, Goldbacks feature a thin layer of 24-karat gold. Additionally, 2 Goldbacks contain 1/500 troy ounce of pure gold.

The Arizona 2 Goldback – Exploratio (Exploration) celebrates the courage and curiosity that drive the human spirit to seek the unknown. Major John Wesley Powell led the first recorded boat voyage through the Grand Canyon in 1869. This design honors his historic Powell Geographic Expedition. Additionally, it is set within the awe-inspiring Grand Canyon, highlighting its historic significance.

At the centre, a young woman personifies Exploratio—the virtue of exploration itself. She rows a wooden craft modeled after those used by Powell’s team: the Emma Dean, Maid of the Canyon, Kitty Clyde’s Sister, and No Name. Windswept and determined, she powers through the water with steady strokes. Her strength mirrors that of the ten men who braved treacherous rapids, dwindling supplies, and the unknown, charting the Green and Colorado Rivers and revealing the Grand Canyon to the world.

In the background, Major Powell appears in his boat, his missing arm a silent testament to his resilience as a Civil War veteran and scientist devoted to discovery. Overhead, California condors soar while a bighorn sheep watches from the cliffs, symbols of endurance in a vast wilderness.

Bathed in golden light, the canyon itself becomes a monument to human perseverance and wonder—guided by Galatians 6:9: “Let us not grow weary.”

These Goldbacks are produced in the United States. It is not legal tender, but it is recognised as a form of payment in certain states within the US.

These unique foil notes allow you to own Gold more conveniently and affordably. They are verified through rigorous testing by the manufacturer Valaurum and independent laboratories. The goal is for people to be able to pay for anything with the Goldback, making it an innovative form of currency.
