2024 1oz Australia Lunar Series III

The dragon holds the highest regard in Chinese culture. Throughout millennia, the dragon links itself to the emperor and his lineage, embodying wisdom, enlightenment, and benevolence. The ancient lunar calendar includes the dragon among its 12 featured animals. Individuals born under the lunar dragon sign in the years 2024, 2012, 2000, 1988, 1976, and every 12th preceding year are believed to be ambitious, successful, and charismatic.

Crafted from 1 oz of 99.99% pure silver, this coin features a vibrant depiction of a Chinese dragon alongside a flaming pearl, symbolizing wisdom. The design includes the Chinese character for ‘dragon,’ the inscription ‘DRAGON 2024,’ and a ‘P125’ mintmark, commemorating The Perth Mint’s 125th anniversary.

The Australian Currency Act 1965 issues the 2024 1oz Australia Lunar Series III as legal tender. The coin features the Jody Clark Memorial Obverse of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This obverse includes the dates of her reign, ‘1952-2022,‘ along with the coin’s weight, purity, and monetary denomination.
